Dear Northern Ohio STR Community,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’m excited to introduce the Northern Ohio Short-Term Rental Association (NOSTRA). Founded in 2024, NOSTRA is here to bring STR owners, local residents, and businesses together to create a better experience for everyone involved.
Our mission is simple: to support and protect the rights of short-term rental hosts while helping our members be great neighbors and responsible operators. We’re about more than just hosting—we want to make sure short-term rentals are a positive part of the communities they’re in. That means encouraging our members to maintain their properties well, treat their guests with care, and stay engaged with their neighborhoods.
The short-term rental industry is growing quickly in Northern Ohio, and it’s not without its challenges. That’s where NOSTRA comes in. We’re here to provide practical tools, education, and advocacy to help you navigate this ever-changing landscape. Whether it’s understanding local rules, improving your guest experience, or connecting with other hosts, we’ve got you covered.
We’re proud to partner with Rent Responsibly, a national network that helps local STR groups like ours thrive. They bring a lot to the table—free resources, help with local regulations, and even positive media coverage to push back against the unfair reputation short-term rentals sometimes get. As their co-founder Dave likes to say, they’re the industry’s “hype man.” We couldn’t agree more.
Looking ahead, we’re also working toward partnerships with Airbnb, VRBO, and other major booking platforms. These partnerships will give hosts in our area even more tools to succeed and strengthen our connection to the wider STR community.
We’ve got some great things in the works, including conversations with local legislators, workshops on hosting best practices, opportunities to connect with other hosts and businesses, and resources to help you stay on top of local regulations. Everything we do is about making it easier for you to run a successful short-term rental while being a valued part of your community.
